Over the next five years, BASF plans to invest more than 200 million euros for the global plastics additive business capacity expansion and operational excellence, of which nearly half will be used in Asia. Plastic additives can enhance product performance, such as scratch resistance and light stability, and optimize the plastic manufacturing process. As a leading global supplier of plastic additives, BASF has manufacturing facilities in all regions and is an important partner in the plastics industry.
"To meet the growing demand for antioxidants and light stabilizers around the world, BASF will invest in increasing capacity to strengthen the plastics additives business," said Christian Fischer, president of BASF's Specialty Chemicals Division. "We will also invest in digital Technology and electronic technology, in the region to become a trusted supplier, to better support customers.
The investment plan in the BASF North American and European production base expansion of plastic additives production capacity, and automation, electronic technology and digital modeling of the building. In addition, BASF plans to expand the plastic additive production network in Asia.
Innovation based on new chemical composition
In addition to investment, innovation is an integral part of the BASF business strategy. In the rubber and plastics industry leading exhibition Germany Düsseldorf K show, BASF plastic additives released two new light stabilizer:
Tinuvin® 880 A medium molecular weight light stabilizer based on the new chemical composition enhances light stability to a great extent, especially in automotive applications where significant improvements in thermal stability can be achieved.
Tinuvin® XT 55 provides the designer with excellent durability and secondary features such as color stability, resistance to gas fading, and resistance to extraction. Using this new solution, it can be based on the actual situation of the terminal application and the expected adjustment of materials and other formulations, thus achieving excellent cost-effectiveness. At present, the product is sampling in the main customers.
